About ProfilePress
Helping people get paid for what they create
ProfilePress is the WordPress plugin for selling memberships, protecting content, and managing members on a site you own. It’s made by Proper Fraction, an independent WordPress company.
Our story
ProfilePress began with the parts of WordPress every membership site needs first: custom login and registration forms, and user profiles people actually want to fill in.
In 2020, we took over WP User Avatar, a popular profile picture plugin, and in 2021 it became the free version of ProfilePress. That’s why the plugin’s address on WordPress.org is still wp-user-avatar.
Since then, ProfilePress has grown into a complete membership plugin. Today it takes one-time and recurring payments, protects content, delivers digital downloads, runs member directories, and connects to the email, course, and community tools you already use.

What we believe
Your business stays yours
Your members, content and customer data live on your own WordPress site. We never take a cut of your sales.
One plugin, not five
Forms, payments, memberships, content protection, and profiles are built to work together, so you’re not stitching separate plugins into a business.
Help when you need it
Every support ticket is answered by a person. If you’d rather help yourself, step-by-step docs and video tutorials are available.
Open by default
ProfilePress is GPL-licensed, has a free version anyone can install, and gives developers hooks and filters to extend it.
