How To Monetize Courses & Spaces in FluentCommunity

Do you want to learn how to grant users access to specific courses and spaces in FluentCommunity after payment or user registration in WordPress?

FluentCommunity is a WordPress plugin that transforms your website into a private or public community hub, allowing you to create interactive spaces and courses with posts, polls, documents, and discussions, while also offering tools for member management and privacy controls. It essentially combines social networking and learning management features into one platform so you can build, engage, and grow your own community directly within WordPress.

Our FluentCommunity addon enables you to monetize specific spaces and courses in your WordPress community website using ProfilePress, as well as automatically add users to specific courses and spaces after registration.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through activating the addon and configuring its settings so you can get started monetizing your spaces and courses in FluentCommunity.

Activating the FluentCommunity Addon

To get started, ensure you have installed and activated the ProfilePress plugin on your WordPress site.

Next, in your WordPress dashboard, go to ProfilePress > Addons. This page contains a list of available ProfilePress addons. Locate the FluentCommunity LMS Addon and enable it.

FluentCommunity Addon Settings

After activating the FluentCommunity addon, you can access its settings by navigating to ProfilePress > Settings > FluentCommunity.

Here, you can select courses and spaces to add users to after registration through any ProfilePress custom registration form.

Monetizing FluentCommunity Spaces & Courses with ProfilePress

Our FluentCommunity addon is perfect for monetizing your courses and spaces in FluentCommunity with ProfilePress. It works by associating one or multiple courses/spaces with a membership plan in ProfilePress.

You can package two or more related courses into a bundle, price it lower than the cost of the individual courses, and watch your sales grow.

If the membership plan is a subscription that charges a recurring fee, access is revoked if the subscription is refunded, expired, or canceled.

Prerequisite

Before monetizing FluentCommunity spaces and courses, it is important to set their privacy to Private or Secret.

A secret course is accessible only to invited students and users. Likewise, a secret space is restricted, allowing only invited members to access and create posts within it. It is worth noting that secret courses and spaces do not show up on the sidebar navigation. Meaning users aren’t aware of their existence unless they are added to them.

Private spaces allow anyone to view the basic information about the space, but only members who have been approved to join or added by an admin can create and see posts. It is the same for private courses in that only members who are added by an admin or by automation can access the course.

If you set a course as private in FluentCommunity, you will see the setting to specify a URL to redirect unenrolled users of the course to. This is a perfect place to enter the checkout URL of the membership plan in ProfilePress that you intend to use to monetize the course.

The same setting for specifying a URL to redirect non-members of a space exists when you set Space privacy as Private.

Creating Membership Plans in ProfilePress for Monetizing Courses & Spaces

The following guide explains how to start selling access to your spaces and courses in FluentCommunity using ProfilePress. While the guide might seem like it is only for courses, it works the same for spaces.

Go to ProfilePress >> Membership Plans to create a new membership plan or open up the edit screen of an existing plan that you want to use to sell your course.

Give the plan a name, description, and price.

ProfilePress has a built-in field called “Purchase Note”, which is displayed to the customer after a successful purchase on the order confirmation page and in the customer’s receipt email. Consider using this field to provide instructions or the next steps for taking your course or accessing your private and secret spaces.

This field accepts HTML. Here’s an example of creating a link to your course. Replace the URL with the URL to your specific course.

Use the Subscription Settings section to set the membership plan fee as a one-time or recurring payment that can be charged daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, every six months, or yearly.

Finally, on the Downloads & Integrations section, select the FluentCommunity spaces and courses to grant users access to after purchasing the ProfilePress membership plan.

If the membership plan is a subscription that charges a recurring fee, access to the selected spaces and courses is immediately revoked if the subscription is no longer active.

Enrollment Based on WordPress Registration Form

The FluentCommunity addon also integrates with our user registration form feature, allowing users to be added to specific courses and spaces based on the registration form through which they signed up.

To do this, go to Forms & Profiles in ProfilePress and create registration forms for each course/space. For example, you might create one form for a beginner-level course and another for VIP space.

When setting up each registration form, go to the Form Settings and click on FluentCommunity. Here, you can select which specific courses and spaces should be linked to that form. This way, users who register through a particular registration form will be automatically added to the associated courses and spaces.

In conclusion, the FluentCommunity combined with ProfilePress offers an efficient way to manage user access and monetize your courses and spaces.

By following the setup steps in this guide, you can enhance member engagement and provide exclusive content to your community. Whether you create bundled offerings or automate user enrollment, these features will help your community thrive.
