Setting Up WordPress Login Restrictions

To restrict WordPress login to only email addresses or usernames, ensure that you have installed and activated the ProfilePress plugin on your site.

Next, navigate to ProfilePress > Settings > Login.

Here, you have three options available:

• Email Address and Username (Default) – Allow users to log in using their user email address or username. This is the default WordPress behavior.
• Email Address Only – Users can only log in using their email addresses. This disables logging in to WordPress using a username.
• Username Only – Users can only log in to WordPress using their username. This disables logging in using an email address.

Choose the option you want and save the changes.
